First Words is a film created by the group that will be screened throughout the day with a question and answer session.
The Golden Thread is a roaming audio performance where the audience chooses their own journey.
The Thing a new zine filled with visual art, photography and writing from the KIN collective.
There will be opportunities for you to create art in response to what you see, hear and feel on the day. KIN is a conversation, and you are invited to take part.
KIN was established in late 2015, bringing together a group with lived experience of familial imprisonment. The collective create art together as a way of making sense of their experience and creating new ways to talk about the issue.
When a young person is disconnected from both their family and society, there is a responsibility to address our own roles in this isolation; the art of KIN aims to draw us in to the experience, and send us out to make a difference. The collective create art together as a way of making sense of their experience and creating new ways to talk about the issue.
